Cindy Lou's life in her new home is a whole different world than how she started out in her young life. A shelter called YGRR in the early spring of 2009 to say they had a six- month-old puppy who had been surrendered because her owners were not able to sell her. Cindy Lou had spent all of her time in a basement and she was now terrified at the shelter. YGRR immediately agreed to bring Cindy Lou into the program and she was taken to the veterinarian to be spayed and given her YGRR tattoo.
Cindy Lou spent the next four months at Riverview gaining confidence and learning how to live in the real world. Because the staff went slowly, Cindy Lou was not overwhelmed, and became more and more curious as new adventures presented themselves--especially when lots of treats were involved! Eventually, she was put on the active adoption list and the search began for her new home! Although Cindy Lou was confident here at Riverview, she was still shy with new people and situations. A couple who loved to take walks in the country and lived in a quiet neighborhood was called to meet Cindy Lou. They also had a securely fenced in yard. They immediately were taken with what a sweet Golden girl Cindy Lou was and didn't hesitate to take her home. Her adopters have checked in a few times to let us know that Cindy Lou is doing just great and they are totally in love with her. They feel very lucky to have her in their lives. |

Jordan enjoyed the comforts of the home simulation room at Riverview while she waited her new adoptive home! Jordan was surrendered to YGRR because her owner traveled a lot and did not have time to properly care for her. So, eight-year-old Jordan was brought to the YGRR veterinarian where she was put on antibiotics for treatment of a skin infection over her entire body (pyuria). She also had a number of masses removed, all of which turned out to be benign.
Jordan quickly settled into the routine of the kennel and was a very happy Golden girl. A number of rounds of antibiotics were needed to finally give her relief from her skin infection. A repeat adopter who loved adopting senior Goldens was invited to meet Jordan and it was love at first sight! He came back a few weeks later to make everything official and Jordan has quickly settled into her new home. She still prefers the couch to the floor!

Bailey is having no problem settling into his new adoptive home! Six-year-old Bailey was surrendered, because his family did not have enought time for him. He was brought to the YGRR veterinarian where he had a growth removed, received his tattoo, was given a dentistry and updated vaccinations. He then came to Riverview to settle in and wait for his new home.
Repeat adopters were called to meet Bailey along with their three-year-old Golden, Buddy. Things couldn't have gone better at the adoption appointment and Bailey happily jumped into the car to go to his new home. His family has already called to say that Buddy and Bailey are already best friends!
